370 Amp High Output Alternator for 1989-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins 12V & 24V

Fits the 5.9L Cummins in 1989-2002 Dodge full-size trucks, covering both the 12-valve 6BT and the 24-valve ISB. This is a direct bolt-in upgrade over the factory unit — same mount, same pulley position, no bracket modification.

Diesel engines spend most of their working life at low RPM, and that is exactly where a stock alternator runs out of headroom. This unit holds 200+ amps at engine idle and delivers a full 370+ amps at cruising speed, hot rated — enough for a lift pump, auxiliary lighting, a winch, a plow, a welder or a competition-grade stereo without watching your voltage sag at every stoplight.

The long-awaited BILLET Large Case Cummins Mechman alternator is finally here! After listening to our customers' needs and usage, we've developed the first and only LARGE CASE style alternator for the unbreakable 5.9 Cummins engines!

Why is a large case alternator better? Amperage output at idle/low RPM's, right where diesel engines like to operate the most! With nearly 200 amps just at idle and over 370 amps at driving RPM's this alternator is the most power single alternator you can install in the factory location. We're even able to use a near stock sized pulley so you don't even need to change your belt with the installation of this part number. It's a win after a win after a win!

This is mostly a plug and play operation and bolts in just like OEM. We do provide a 2pin wiring harness with this alternator for OEM fitments and detailed instructions on how to install in your vehicle. If you are needing higher voltage than what the OEM vehicle produces (13.9-14.4 volts), this alternator is already set up for external voltage control via our 91102RC "blue box" external voltage regulator. Again, this is NOT NEEDED in OEM applications but if you are needing higher volts you're set up for success from the start!
